HUG Recap: Deep Dishin’ on INBOUND and the HubSpot Flywheel

The Chicago HubSpot User Group met at Industrious Fulton Market, a hip coworking space in the West Loop, for a recap of INBOUND 2018 and a chat about the new HubSpot Flywheel.

Since we were dishing all the deets from INBOUND, Stephanie and I figured the best thing to serve would be deep dish pizza from Lou Malnati’s.

At INBOUND this year, HubSpot debuted their new growth model called, the HubSpot Flywheel. The Chicago HUG got a sneak peek of this brand-new growth model from the HubSpot VP of Customer Success, Alison Elworthy, when she visited in July.

HubSpot blog explains it best, “Funnels lose the energy you put into them once you reach the bottom, but flywheels are remarkable at storing and releasing energy. Flywheels leverage their momentum to keep spinning. Also, because they preserve momentum so well, all of the additional energy you add to spin it faster adds to the capacity of the whole.”

Happy customers are one of the biggest growth factors of 2018. When you invest the time in your customers to truly make them happy, your customers turn into promoters and share their experiences about your company which brings you new leads.

After Stephanie and I ran through HubSpot product updates, we challenged our HUG attendees to fill out the HubSpot Flywheel homework that Brian shared at INBOUND. Interested in what that homework looked like? Find the slides for it, here.

What we loved about this HUG workshop is that our users walked away with practical ways to measure success, maximize delight and reduce friction in their own companies.

Our next HUG is the last meet up of 2018 and we’re going BIG. Get ready for HUGchiX: 7 six-minute long, powerful and industry-related talks (think TED style) from your fellow HUG members. With topics ranging from video, design, inbound marketing, diversity and leadership, attendees will leave inspired and challenged. The best part is YOU can apply to be a speaker!
